A Reason to Live

helping1Recently a friend of mine expressed her deepest cry to God, “I just want a reason to live!” This resonated within me because I believe many people feel that way and also feel they are the only ones who do. I pondered what an answer would be for her and for those who have that same heart’s cry, and here is what I came up with. . .There are people in the world who need you, people only you can touch, people who need your smile, your kind words, your wisdom, your friendship. Your purpose is to find them and meet their need.

It is time for all of us to forget about ourselves and our needs and find those who need us. God put us here for such a purpose. We need each other. We each have a lot to give. Give what you need.  Now is the time to forget yourself. That is where the answer lies. You can do this. You may not even personally know the people who need you. They may be the clerks at stores where you shop, or the drivers of cars you pass. People you see everywhere you go need your smile, your prayers, and your positive thoughts as you pass them. Others will need your friendship, your laughter, and your unselfish gift of encouragement and love. Who needs you today? You may never know, but know this: people need you. Just be yourself and let the love of God flow out of you to everyone you meet.

helping2Today’s Verse:  Matthew 7:12 – Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets

Today’s Action: Ask God for His grace and help in forgetting yourself. Then  give what you need to others today!

  1. So true! Most of the time it is as simple as restoring a passion or dream that they once gave up on. When people chase their dreams they can’t help but be happy.

    1. That is a great example! I’m so proud of you and how you have let God bring joy back to you! You are a perfect example of bringing something good to everyone who comes in contact with you! Love you so much! You have certainly blessed our family!
